You need a letter of acceptance from a designated learning institution (DLI), proof of funds, and to show you will leave Canada after your studies.
Core documents
- Passport – valid for the duration
- Letter of acceptance – from a DLI (include DLI number)
- Proof of funds – tuition paid or proof you can pay; living expenses (GIC, bank statements, or sponsor)
- Statement of purpose (SOP) – why this course, why Canada, ties to home country, career plans
- Photo – Canada specifications
- Medical exam – if required for your country/length of stay
- Police certificate – if required
