Super Visa (parents and grandparents)
The Super Visa allows parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents to stay up to 5 years (multiple entries). The host in Canada must meet income requirements.
From the host (child/grandchild in Canada)
- Invitation letter – relationship, undertaking to support, length of stay
- Proof of relationship – birth certificates, etc.
- Proof of status – Canadian citizenship or PR document
- Income requirement – NOA (Notice of Assessment) or T4/T1 for the most recent tax year; minimum income as per LICO
From the applicant (parent/grandparent)
- Passport, application form, photo
- Medical insurance – minimum 1 year, Canadian insurer, coverage at least $100,000
- Proof of ties to home country – that they will return
- Medical exam – required for Super Visa
