Ties to your home country
Canadian visa officers must be satisfied you will leave at the end of your stay. Strong ties help.
What counts as ties
- Employment – job letter, leave approval, that you will return to the same job
- Family – spouse, children, parents remaining at home
- Property – ownership or tenancy, business
- Studies – ongoing course or clear return to study
- Travel history – previous visas and compliance
How to show them
- Employment letter – states return date and that your job is held
- Ties to Home Country letter – one document that summarises job, family, property, and intent to return
- Proof – property deeds, marriage certificate, children’s school letters, business registration
Use our Ties to Home Country and Employment Verification templates. Be consistent with your itinerary and leave dates.
