Invitation letter for Schengen
If you are staying with a host in the Schengen area, their invitation letter and proof support your application.
What the host should include
- Host’s details – full name, address, phone, email, relationship to you
- Your details – full name, passport number, travel dates
- Accommodation – that you will stay at their address; full address
- Undertaking – that they will host you and, if applicable, support you financially
- Signature and date
What the host should attach (as required by the embassy)
- Copy of ID or passport
- Proof of address (utility bill, rental contract)
- Proof of funds or employment (if sponsoring)
- Sometimes a formal invitation form from the embassy
