Visiting family or friends in the UK
You need to show you are a genuine visitor and that your host will accommodate and/or support you.
From the host in the UK
- Invitation letter – host’s full name, address, relationship to you, your travel dates, where you will stay
- Proof of address – utility bill, council tax, or tenancy
- Passport or status – copy of passport or BRP showing they can reside in the UK
- Proof of funds (if host is sponsoring) – bank statements, employment letter
From you (applicant)
- Passport, application form, photo
- Proof of funds – your own or sponsor’s (bank statements, employment letter)
- Ties to home country – job, family, property
- Travel itinerary – brief plan and accommodation (host’s address)
