F-1 student visa
You need Form I-20 from a SEVP-certified school, proof of funds, and to show non-immigrant intent.
Core documents
- Passport – valid at least 6 months beyond your stay
- Form I-20 – signed by you and the school
- DS-160 confirmation, visa fee receipt, photo
- SEVIS fee – I-901 payment receipt
- Letter of acceptance – from the school
- Proof of funds – bank statements, sponsor letter (I-134 if applicable), scholarship letter
- Proof of ties – intent to return after studies (family, property, career plans at home)

- Explain your course, why this school, and your plans after graduation. Bring originals of key documents.
