Accommodation Plan for Visa: Template & What to Include

How to write an accommodation plan for a visa application. Template and disclaimer for planning purposes (not a confirmed booking).

What is an accommodation plan for a visa?

An accommodation plan for a visa application is a short document that states where you plan to stay during your trip: city, dates, and the type or name of accommodation (e.g. a hotel in the city center or a specific hotel name with “or similar”). Many embassies accept this when you have not yet made a confirmed booking, as long as it is clear that it is a plan for visa purposes and that actual accommodation may be booked after the visa is granted.

What to include

  • Your name and passport number.

  • Destination city and country.

  • Planned check-in and check-out dates.

  • Planned accommodation (e.g. “Hotel Paris Centre (or similar)” or “accommodation in central Paris”).

  • A note that alternative accommodation may be booked after visa approval.

  • A clear disclaimer: this is for visa application purposes only; no booking has been confirmed.

Example (excerpt)

Applicant: [Name]. Destination: Paris, France. Planned stay: [dates]. Planned accommodation: Hotel in central Paris (or similar). Alternative accommodation may be booked after visa approval. This plan is for visa application purposes only; no booking has been confirmed.
