Day-by-Day Travel Itinerary Template for Visa

Day-by-day travel itinerary template for visa applications. How to structure and example.

Day-by-day travel itinerary template

A travel itinerary for a visa application is a day-by-day (or at least date-by-date) plan of your trip: where you will be, what you will do, and sometimes where you will stay. It shows the embassy that your visit is planned and genuine, and that your stated purpose (e.g. tourism) matches your plans. A day-by-day itinerary lists each day of your trip with location, accommodation, and main activities. It is more detailed than a summary and is useful when the embassy expects a clear plan.

Structure

  • Day 1: Arrival, accommodation, main activity.

  • Day 2–N: Location, where you stay, what you do.

  • Last day: Departure.

Example (excerpt)

Day 1: Arrive Paris. Hotel [name], [address]. Rest, local sightseeing. Day 2–3: Paris. Same hotel. Louvre, Eiffel Tower. Day 4: Train to Lyon. Hotel [name]. Day 5: Lyon. Depart for [home country] from Lyon airport.
