UK Visa Travel Itinerary: Template & How to Create

Create a UK visa travel itinerary. What to include, day-by-day template, and example for your application.

What is a UK visa travel itinerary?

A travel itinerary for a visa application is a day-by-day (or at least date-by-date) plan of your trip: where you will be, what you will do, and sometimes where you will stay. It shows the embassy that your visit is planned and genuine, and that your stated purpose (e.g. tourism) matches your plans. For the UK Standard Visitor visa, an itinerary is not always mandatory but is useful to show your planned activities and that your visit is genuine and within the permitted length of stay.

What to include

  • Entry and exit dates.

  • Cities or regions you will visit.

  • Where you will stay (hotel or host address).

  • Main activities (tourism, family, business).

  • How you will travel within the UK if relevant.

Example (excerpt)

I will arrive in London on [date] and leave on [date]. I will stay at [hotel/address] in London for 5 nights, then travel to Edinburgh for 3 nights at [accommodation]. I plan to sightsee and visit [family/friends]. I will depart from London on [date].
