USA Invitation Letter for B1/B2 Visa

How to write a USA invitation letter for a visitor visa. Sample and what to include.

USA invitation letter for B1/B2 visa

An invitation letter for a visa is written by your host in the destination country. It confirms that they are inviting you, the dates of your stay, where you will stay, and often that they will support you financially or with accommodation. Many embassies require this for visitor, family, or business visas when you have a host. For a US B1/B2 visitor visa, an invitation letter from a host in the US is not mandatory but can help. It shows the purpose of the visit and where the applicant will stay.

What to include

  • Host’s full name, address, phone, and email.

  • Host’s status in the US (citizen, green card, visa type).

  • Applicant’s full name and passport number.

  • Relationship and dates of the visit.

  • Where the applicant will stay and what they will do.

If the host is also sponsoring

The host may need to complete Form I-134 (Affidavit of Support) and provide proof of income. Use our sponsorship letter template and attach the host’s financial evidence as required.
