Visa Refusal Explanation Letter: Template & How to Write
How to write a letter explaining a previous visa refusal. What to include, sample structure, and template for re-application.
What is a visa refusal explanation letter?
If you have been refused a visa in the past, many embassies expect you to declare it and sometimes to submit a letter explaining the refusal. This letter should state when and where you were refused, the reason given (if any), what has changed since then, and why your current application should be considered on its merits. Being transparent and factual helps officers assess your current case.
What to include
-
Your details (name, passport number).
-
Previous refusal: country/visa type and approximate date.
-
Reason given by the embassy (or that it was not specified).
-
What has changed: stronger finances, new documents, different purpose, or other relevant changes.
-
Current application: purpose of this application and a short statement that you have addressed previous concerns.
-
Polite closing and declaration that the information is true.
